Our poles are suitable to create a high moss pole tower of more than 2 meters, or to be used side by side to create a big green wall without the need of construction. This is specially wonderful to recreate the natural growth habit of tropical climbing plants. And it looks incredible!

What is a moss pole?
A moss pole is a structure that supports the realization of the potential of climbing plants.
How does it work?
Climbing plants will grow up the pole and root inside the moss, developing a larger root system which allows the plant to mature faster, larger and healthier. The plant will intake nutrients from the pole as it climbs, as well as from the substrate at its base.
What are the benefits of a moss pole?
Moss poles help climbing plants mature indoors, mimicking the natural growth pattern they have when growing attached to a tree, as they grow in the tropics.
Apart from providing a sturdy support, moss poles are a kind of ‘‘life insurance’’ for climbing plants. Even if root rot would occur at the base of the plant, the root system within the pole will prevent the plant from dying.
Furthermore, sphagnum moss creates the perfect ph environment for aroids.
How long will a moss pole last?
Typically sphagnum moss will degrade with time, as any natural biodegradable substrate, after some years. Moss can last from 2 to 3 years in optimal conditions without being replaced. A plant will typically climb up a moss pole in between 6 months and two years, depending on its growth pattern and space between the nodes.
The plastic coated metal mesh on the pole structure can last up to 3 years in use. Calk residues from water and salt residues from fertilizers as well as other environmental conditions can affect its appearance. After some years, moss and/or the metal mesh on the pole can be replaced or cleaned.
The acrylic back of the pole can last indefinitely and it will not need to be replaced.
